  If experience has taught Thai pop princess Tata Young   anything, it's that it is impossible to please all the people all the time.
Twelve years on from her debut, the 27-year-old has sold more than 12 million albums internationally - and she seems to have courted controversy all the way.
The press in her homeland seem to have focused on her  sometimes risqu?outfits and her love life. It hasn't helped that she fell for Thai tennis player  Paradorn Srichaphan  and, more recently, the son of one of Thailand's  top boxing promoters. Heartbreaker? Young  disagrees.
'I don't think I am like that,'  she once  said. 'I can't make everybody feel the way I want them to feel. The best thing for me to do is do the best that I can with the job that I have.'
 Young (above) has   performed regularly outside of Thailand, thanks  initially to the success of her 2004 English-language debut I Believe.  She has since toured Tokyo, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore and Manila. And it's Macau's turn this weekend:  she will showcase her second English release, Temperature Rising,  at the Venetian Ballroom.
Young burst  onto the Thai pop scene at 15, with the million-selling debut Amita Tata Young. She was just 11 when she was first spotted after winning a national talent contest.
 Since her debut she has branched out into  modelling and acting and has  become something of a role model for Thai  women, even  if she's not entirely happy with that label.
'It's none of my business to judge anybody for the way they are. Everybody has their personal character. I respect people the way they are,' she has said. 'I don't encourage people to be like me. I can't make them feel or be the person I am, because they are not me.'
 Young is never far from the newspapers, but she remains unconcerned. And her live shows  continue to win audience awards in Thailand. 'I don't really like to talk about the past, because there isn't really something to talk about. To look to the future is nicer.'
