Au's World Open dream is over

Annie Au Wing-chi's campaign at the World Open ended in just 27 minutes after she was beaten by third seed Natalie Grinham in the second round in Manchester 11-6, 11-7, 11-4. Hong Kong number two Au (pictured) pulled off a huge upset on Wednesday by defeating world number 17 Samantha Teran of Mexico, but she had no answer to Grinham of Australia. Hong Kong champion Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin was due to play Malaysian Nicol David, the world number one, in the second round last night.
