The rapid rise in the number of international hotels and resorts in Macau, such as Wynn, The Venetian, MGM Grand Macau and others, means tourism is booming. Hordes of visitors are pouring into Macau and this trend is expected to continue.
To cope with the surge in the number of tourists, Air Macau, which serves Manila, Osaka, Seoul, seven cities on the mainland and two in Taiwan, is focusing on increasing its Japanese destinations. This means the carrier is looking to hire supervisors, cabin crew, customer service representatives and pilots.
For supervisory roles, candidates with knowledge of the Japanese aviation market are preferred. Applicants must show initiative, be dynamic, ready for change and face challenges with a positive attitude. Their main duty is to promote the airline's services to the Japanese market.
Cabin crew and customer service representatives are the frontline of the organisation. Friendly smiles, a passion to communicate with and serve customers are all a crucial part of the package.
Fresh graduates will be given six weeks of training.
'We are searching for qualified pilots who are certified on A320 or A300-600R aircraft. First officers must have at least 2,000 flying hours.
Captains must have a minimum of 5,000 flying hours, with at least 1,000 hours in command of [the Airbus] types,' said Anabela da Rosa, vice-president, general affairs of Air Macau. 'Newly recruited pilots will need to undergo a training course, usually about two to three months, provided by the company to fulfil the licensing requirements.'
