Chinese Estates adopts intelligence software from SAS
Chinese Estates Holdings, which is involved in property investment in Hong Kong, Macau and the mainland, has adopted business intelligence software from United States-based SAS for its property leasing business. The SAS technology will be used by Chinese Estates to provide a foundation for better business projections and analyses, covering 1,000 shops and prime office units. Financial details were not given. SanDisk opens flash memory production facility in Shanghai
SanDisk, the world's largest supplier of flash storage card products, last week opened a production facility in Shanghai, the company's first in the mainland. Based in Zizhu Industrial-based Science Park, the 34,000-square-metre plant has started producing a flash memory-based chip package called System-in-a-Package - particularly valuable in mobile telephones, which have limited space due to their small size. 'Shanghai is a strategic location that is close to our supply partners and allows us to stay ahead of the curve as we seek to bring our products to market faster,' said SanDisk president and chief operating officer Sanjay Mehrotra. Asia Netcom wins supply contract from Russia's TTC
Asia Netcom, a Hong Kong-based communications services provider for network operators, has been selected by Russian telecommunications firm TransTelecom Co (TTC) to supply connections between Japan and the city. The Tokyo-Hong Kong connectivity will support TTC's 'EurasiaHighway' strategy, built on its 28,000-kilometre terrestrial network, which spans Russia. Financial details were not given. TTC senior vice-president for international sales and marketing Igor Kelshev saw Asia Netcom's coverage around Asia and into the mainland, including its industry-leading submarine cable infrastructure, as 'a perfect fit' for TTC to further expand its coverage across the region.
