For the second time, adidas is organising a large-scale football tournament for teenagers in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong round of the adidas +Challenge 2007 will be held at The Drive-in Theatre in Tsim Sha Tsui on July 21 and 22.
The 2006 competition was the first of its kind to feature innovative five-a-side, three-a-side and one-a-side games. It became hugely popular among young football enthusiasts, who were attracted by the opportunity for the champion team to participate in the +Challenge global finals in Berlin, Germany, the venue of the 2006 Fifa World Cup.
The adidas +Challenge 2007 will include two age categories: 13- to 14-year-olds and 15- to 16-year-olds.
Each team, comprising six players, will compete in two different formats - five versus five and one versus one.
This year, the regional finals will be held in Hong Kong. In the 15- to 16-year-old category, three local teams will take on other top sides from around the region.
The regional champions will have the opportunity to visit English Premier League side Liverpool.
