Galaxy Entertainment Group's principal activities are the operation of casino games of chance or games of other forms, and the manufacture, sale and distribution of construction materials such as ready-mixed concrete, aggregates, concrete pipes, cement and precast concrete products. Other activities include management service, quarrying, property investment, equipment leasing and investment holding. The company operates five casinos in Macau and expects a double-digit return on investment this year from its flagship property, the HK$3 billion StarWorld Hotel and Casino. This should enable the company to finance the first phase of its Cotai Mega Resort complex by the end of next year. Galaxy's market share in Macau's gaming industry had increased to 22 per cent by the first quarter of this year.
