If there's an award for the most inappropriately titled album of the year, please give it to Avril Lavigne. The Best Damn Thing is one of the worst damn things Canada's self-proclaimed punk princess has released since she and her vast selection of ties bombarded the airwaves in 2002.
Lavigne has done some growing up since her debut effort obliterated her chart competitors - most notably by walking up the aisle to where Sum41's Deryck Whibley was waiting to make her a wife last year.
Despite enlisting a who's who of collaborators including Rob Cavallo who worked with Greenday and My Chemical Romance, and Dr Luke who worked with Pink and Lady Sovereign, The Best Damn Thing is like one big sandwich stuffed with fillings, yet utterly dissatisfying.
