Sweet Basil Thai (new restaurant)
After a stroll through Causeway Bay's busy streets, the usual tonic to relieve my post-shopping stress was a gem of a restaurant in the Hang Lung Centre. However, after one particularly trying morning, I was disappointed to learn that Sweet Basil Thai had - in true Hong Kong style - upped anchor.
Luckily a passer-by, who must have spotted my dismay, told me that it had moved to a new location in Causeway Bay. Braving the crowds once more, I easily found the restaurant in Lee Theatre Plaza.
How pleased I was to discover that the original concept remained intact.
The modern interior was as relaxing as ever, with authentic wooden carvings from Chiang Mai still adorning the walls, the Thai hospitality was as inviting as ever and the fresh young coconuts just as refreshing.
It was also a relief to see that the menu had not been tinkered with.
