Where? The first Le Shop, Le Shop Stockholm, was opened in the independent fashion district of SoFo in 2003. The second branch, Le Shop too, was launched two years later in Birger Jarlspassagen arcade in the high-fashion district of Ostermalm.
Who? Cecilia Steiner and Payman Dehdezi founded Le Shop Stockholm. For the second store they recruited more investors, including Sweden's best female swimmer, fashionista Therese Alshammar.
Fashion finds: Le Shop was the first in the city to stock cutting-edge labels such as Trovata, Tata-Naka, Bernhard Willhelm, Gaspard Yurkievich, Licentious, Buddhahood, Sharon Wauchob and Spijkers en Spijkers to name a few. Other famous brands include Vivienne Westwood, Raf Simons, April 77 and Swedish labels Minimarket and Nakkna. The boutiques carry clothes, shoes and accessories, as well as make-up from Paul & Joe Beaute, magazines and occasional artwork pieces.
Vibe: gothic glam. Expect black walls, gold and red velvet wallpaper and golden chains cascading
from the ceiling. The basement of the first shop has red, black and gold graffiti on all the walls created by local artist Oskar Palmback.
Crowd: most customers are in their 20s, 30s and 40s and are fashion lovers looking for unique items. The boutiques also attract a number of celebrities.
