ON THE BACK of rising profits, fast growth and a diverse product lineup, Philips Electronics Hong Kong has launched a major recruitment drive. It wants to expand its management team by about 200 people.
The Dutch electronics giant plans to mainly take on middle managers and senior managers to fill vacancies across five product divisions: medical, lighting, consumer electronics, domestic appliances and personal care, and semiconductors.
'In a world where technology increasingly touches almost every aspect of daily lives, there are plenty of opportunities for talented managers to develop their careers,' said Florence Ng, senior director of human resources, Philips Electronics Hong Kong.
Ms Ng said the range of job vacancies provided an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who wanted to contribute to the company's dynamic growth while pursuing their career aspirations. She said the company was looking for people who had relevant experience and management skills, adding that most of the positions involved duties in Hong Kong and the mainland.
The company places emphasis on creating 'a harmonious relationship between products, people and their natural and man-made environment'. This requires managers to be proactive thinkers and problem solvers. They should also be team players capable of working in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines.
Philips employs more than 16,000 staff on the mainland and about 2,800 employees in Hong Kong.
