Four makeup artists reveal their essentials when it comes to cosmetic bags:
- US-based Natasha Sowry's must-haves are a good lip gloss and lip moisturiser (coloured or plain), lip liner, a moisturising foundation, an eye shadow compact and eyeliner. And to freshen up or clear up any mistakes, she recommends cleansing wipes.
- For Tan Tian from Beijing, the basics are lipstick, lip balm, mascara, foundation, eyelash curlers and blusher. He says a small can of water spray is handy to to set makeup and hydrate the skin throughout the day.
- You can't go wrong with a lipstick and bronzing powder, says Australian Charlene Hyde. You can use the lipstick as blusher or eyeshadow so long as it's blended properly. For an instant pick-me-up, dust the face with bronzing powder.
- Australian Geraldine Augustine says every bag should have a lip brush, which can be used to apply lipstick and gloss. And blotting tissues are a must to avoid shine.
