Blood, clothing and other items of missing pair found in wildlife reserve
Police in Nepal believe a killer is targeting female tourists in Kathmandu after French and German women disappeared in recent months.
'It seems that there is a serial killer,' said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pitambur Adhikari. 'We've found things from both ladies and it seems the culprit is the same.'
Yet it was not the police, but French diplomats, who led early stages of the inquiry, discovering blood, clothing and other items belonging to the women in Nagarjun Forest, a wildlife reserve and royal retreat 8km from the capital.
The first to disappear was Celine Henry, 31, from France, who signed the visitors' register at Nagarjun on September 3.
She never signed out, but her family did not report her missing to the French embassy in Nepal until October 7.
Eight days later, the French discovered Henry's name in the Nagarjun register. The next day, the French ambassador, Michel Jolivet, went to retrace her steps.
