PERSONAL TRIUMPH FOR this vivacious 20-year-old proved to be the mozzarella on the top of the slice for one of Hong Kong's best-known pizza chains. Fresh from its victories at the recent HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence, Pizza Hut has again shown its success is made of much more than dough and toppings.

Professional staff are integral to any business and part-time waitress Wong Ka-ki (also known as Ki Ki) is a case in point. Her enthusiasm and charm are infectious, and have clearly rubbed off on her senior management as well as her customers.

'She's approachable, friendly and interested in people,' said Henry Ha, operations director of Pizza Hut.

'Ki Ki may be only 20, but she has demonstrated considerable experience and certainly meets our international standards.'

This is not the first time Ms Wong, the winner of a junior frontline level award, has achieved prestigious recognition. Back in January in the Asia-Pacific Championship Challenge in Bangkok, arranged by restaurant franchiser Yum! Restaurants International, she faced competition from around the region. The Hongkonger came out on top, winning the Award for Best Customer Service Representative.
