Name: Rainbow Woo Wing-tung

School: Diocesan Girls' School

Grade: Form Three

Sport: Athletics (javelin)

Achievements: Rainbow is the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association's top-ranked  women's javelin thrower.

The 15-year-old was champion in women's javelin in the first three rounds of the Watsons Water Athletic King Championships 2005.

She set a new Hong Kong Age Group record in girls' Grade B javelin during round three of the Watsons Water Hong Kong Age Group Athletic Meet last year and achieved a personal best of 39.80 metres.

She currently holds the Hong Kong Age Group record in girls' B and C grades. Rainbow is also a member of the school's badminton and basketball teams.

Soundbite: 'Due to the bad weather and hence the cancellation of the World Athletic Day Open Meet on May 8, I missed the chance to qualify for the All-China Student Games,' said Rainbow.

From her coach:  'Rainbow has the potential to break the Hong Kong record. Yet she needs to squeeze more time for training from her busy schedule. There is still room for improvement,'  her coach, Tang Kun-loi, said.

Ambitions: She aims to throw beyond 40m this year. She is also looking forward to participating in overseas events.
