Businesswoman mentally and physically traumatised after attack by US officers
Only a week ago, Tianjin businesswoman Zhao Yan was happily snapping photos with New York City police officers in Manhattan.
She could never have imagined that, within a matter of days, uniformed security officers would have beaten her and driven her into such a deep depression that she even thought about jumping from her window to end her life.
'When I was sightseeing on Wall Street, I would ask the NYPD [New York Police Department] police to take photos with me,' she said.
'They are so tall and handsome. I never imagined they would assault me like this. They should be punished,' Ms Zhao said.
She was beaten up by US homeland security officers at Niagara Falls, when they mistook her for a member of a drug-smuggling gang late on Wednesday night.
