Arriving by train yesterday morning at Hunghom, travellers said they did not fear Sars.

One of the 100 or so individual travellers on board, a Ms Xu from Guangzhou, came to visit her boyfriend. 'I just miss him too much,' she said.

'I wouldn't be here if I was scared about Sars. The last time I came to Hong Kong was in April, when Sars was at its peak. Sars doesn't bother me.'

Another woman, surnamed Li, said she had to take two temperature tests before getting on the train in Guangzhou.

'When I got here, it took me longer for similar tests - but I guess that's the responsible thing to do,' she said. She is in Hong Kong with colleagues to attend a conference at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
