It was to the music of Aaron Kwok Fu-shing's latest hit Para Para Sukura that students and teachers from Tai Po Sam Yuk Secondary School recently sang at a sixth form orientation camp in Clearwater Bay.

Half of its Form Six intake this year are from other schools and the weekend event allowed them to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere.

Teacher Chan Yuen-ching said the camp also kept students healthy and fit. The meals at the camp were mostly vegetarian. And there were plenty of activities - including a mini-election - that helped participants communicate and express their views freely.

Though it was the third year the school had held an orientation camp, the event still felt fresh to participants.

Seventh former Cheung Tsz-hing said: 'I had more opportunity to make friends through the orientation camp. It encouraged me to communicate with people and learn how to solve problems through the activities.'
