The musical was staged by students from Holy Family Canossian College, La Salle College, Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K T Chong Sixth Form College, Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Fut Nam College.

Guang Zhi Xing Chen is a romantic story about a young man who sacrifices himself to save the girl he loves from a curse.

'Some young people don't take love seriously. They only want to play around. So, I want to show young people what true love is through the musical,' said Jarvis Chow Chun-wai, the play's author. The 17-year-old La Salle College student, who also penned the lyrics, said the words of the songs must follow the story and express the characters' emotions, which was not as easy a task as he had imagined.

The play's supervisor, Vivien Chiu Yin-ting, studying at Holy Family Canossian College, said: 'I am interested in music and want to work with students from other schools. That is why I am taking part in such a joint school musical'.
