Could you put a radio together in under an hour? Three students from Tang King Po School did and came first in the upper-intermediate category of a national technology contest.
The winners were fourth formers Tsang Wai-chau, Dennis Ma King-lam and Lam Hok-man.
The Nokia 2001 National Youth Amateur Radio Contest was held in Dongguan recently. It aimed to raise young people's interest in electronics.
This year, the annual event required contestants to assemble fully-working mini radios within an hour, with the parts provided by the organisers. The judges selected the best radios based on their functioning, aesthetics and the the time they took to assemble them.
It was organised by the People's Republic of China Athletic Ministry, Ministry on Education, Science Federation of China, Chinese Youth Communists Federation and Women's National Federation.
The other school from Hong Kong that competed was Caritas Shatin Marden Foundation Secondary School.
