Some of the students at Ko Lui Secondary School attend extra English classes on Saturday mornings. Usually, we play games, sing and listen to English songs, do role-plays and other interesting activities. But one Saturday, we did something different. We went to McDonald's.
Before going to the restaurant we learned all the English words for the items on the menu. We practised saying them out loud, and then decided what we were going to order. Then we did role-plays, where one of us was the customer and the other was the counter assistant.
At the restaurant we all had to order our breakfast in English.
We managed to do so, with only a few mistakes. And we learned some new and useful English expressions.
