St Joseph's College 7 Kennedy Road Hongkong ST Joseph's College has come up with a new award scheme this year as an incentive for students to do well both in studies and sports.
The ''Most Progressive Students' Award'' aims to give students recognition and encouragement for improved performance. It will also help to identify those pupils who may be in need of special help in the classroom.
The first batch of six ''most progressive'' students, from Forms 2 to 5, received their award in March this year.
Helping to monitor students' progress in connection with the award is the newly appointed ''prefect of studies''.
''The awards are a recognition of progress,'' said the principal Brother Thomas Favier. ''Not every student can be brilliant or outstanding, but they can all be encouraged to do better.'' St Joseph's College believes that students should enjoy their school life while building up a healthy outlook and balanced personality through a rounded education.
The school offers a variety of activities, ranging from academic and interest clubs to sports.
