Asia's economic troubles have created investment opportunities for finance companies with the will to increase their exposure to the region, according to Barclays Capital.
Director of credit research Damien Wood said while many investment outfits in the region were reluctant to enter the market and seek out new business in distressed economies, there were rewards for those who did.
Barclays was looking at a number of opportunities with potential customers and new deals with existing customers both in Hong Kong and across Asia.
Mr Wood said it was a question of identifying the survivors and building relationships with them.
'We can approach the customers we want to deal with - and there are many - in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong who are still in need of funds and [whom] we are comfortable doing business with.
'Nowadays we find it's a good opportunity to get in the door and develop it even further,' Mr Wood said.
