Paul Hastings advances global ambition of Chinese companies
Mergers and acquisitions involving Chinese companies in developed economies are likely to increase. United States-headquartered law firm Paul Hastings has been helping Chinese companies to navigate regulatory regimes and solve the complex legal issues with these cross-border deals.
Paul Hastings gained prominence by becoming an innovator in a changing world. A newcomer relative to century-old competitors, the firm took advantage of globalisation to forge its path.
"We find solutions to unanticipated problems," says Greg Nitzkowski, managing partner. "We ask critical questions about the future and create corresponding products, strategies and goals."
Recognising Asia's growing prominence, Paul Hastings entered Asia in 1987.
Last year, the firm advised WH Group in the landmark Smithfield Foods deal, the largest Chinese takeover of a US company. The deal is one example of its focus on representing "Asia Inc" clients throughout their life cycles.
The firm has also advised Samsung on strategic outbound investments in Europe, Japan and the US.
