Gazeley, a leading global investor and developer of sustainable, build-to-suit distribution warehouses and logistics parks trusted by the world's biggest brands and logistics leaders, is raising the bar further. It is set to transform into a full-service logistics asset provider - leveraging a wider reach through global commercial property expert Brookfield Property Group, which acquired Gazeley last year.
Over the past 25 years, Gazeley has delivered in excess of 7 million square metres of high-quality, cost-effective and sustainable developments across Europe, the Middle East and China. It is the name behind the state-of-the-art economic zones, industrial parks and logistics infrastructure for Walmart, DHL, Toyota, Adidas, Tesco and Procter & Gamble, among others.
"As a Brookfield company with an excellent balance sheet and a strong desire to grow our property logistics business globally, Gazeley is well-positioned as the developer of choice for multinational corporations and local partners the world over," says Jay Cornforth, managing partner, global head of industrial at Brookfield.
Gazeley CEO Pat McGillycuddy looks forward to passing on this newfound advantage to clients. "Brookfield has given us the global platform that will enable us to deliver larger, better and more projects on time, on clients' specifications and beyond their expectations," he says.
Among the key markets Gazeley sees as a niche to carve its global platform in is China, where it is slated to further expand with an upcoming development of up to 77,000 square metres of sustainable logistic warehouse space in Wuxi.
"The development of G. Park Wuxi signals the start of Gazeley's concerted period of investment in China," Cornforth says. It also represents Gazeley's future plans, determination and commitment to invest in cities across the country, including Tianjin, Beijing, Nanjing, Wuhan and Chengdu.
