When it comes to comprehensive health care services in Malaysia, the BP Healthcare Group rises above the competition in delivering an outstanding patient experience. Expanding its medical centre network and continuing to develop innovative services, BP Healthcare has been providing top-notch medical services accessible to a wider scope of patients for more than 30 years.

The leading integrated health care provider has made its name in the medical industry as a diagnostic and imaging company. Through its subsidiary, BP Clinical Lab, BP Healthcare is the first in Asia to receive a Joint Commission International accreditation, a distinction bestowed on laboratories committed to delivering patient safety with quality, efficiency, accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

Moving outside its core competencies, BP Healthcare commissioned specialists in different branches of medicine to offer a one-stop shop solution for patients. Medical professionals, such as gynaecologists, surgeons, dermatologists, otolaryngologists and dentists, allow BP Healthcare to cover the full spectrum of medical services.

"In the past, patients needed to deal with different vendors. We have solved that problem," says Chevy Beh, group managing director.

With Beh at the helm, BP Healthcare introduced many firsts in Malaysia's health care industry. Beh also spearheaded strategic partnerships with local and international universities to complement the company's internal research and development initiatives.

Under the group umbrella, BP Pharmacy is one of the first pharmacy chains to offer drive-through and home-delivery services. Another subsidiary, BP Food and Environmental Testing, is the first in Malaysia to enable sample tracking and online checking of test results.

BP Healthcare also pioneered mobile diagnostic clinics, providing health care services to patients even in remote areas.

BP Healthcare has experienced a compounded annual growth of 50 per cent for the past three years.

To accommodate the growing number of Malaysian and Indonesian patients, BP Healthcare ramps up its capabilities and constructs more facilities.

Going beyond organic growth, BP Healthcare acquired the day care facility of Sime Darby Healthcare in Petaling Jaya. Dubbed the BP Specialist Centre Taman Megah, it will be the fifth specialist centre within the group, bringing the company closer to its goal of establishing 15 centres over the next three years.

Great growth opportunities abound for BP Healthcare, and the company is setting its sights on international expansion, particularly in Southeast Asia.

"Our proposition is to keep moving up the value chain. We are looking for strong local partners with extensive networks that can help us accomplish things while we focus on the know-how," Beh says.
