China's investment machine has rolled in to tap Australia's attractive resource sector, paving the way for fresh linkages between companies in the two countries. To strengthen these relationships, industrial construction specialist Walz Group is capitalising on the ability of its diverse group to offer an integrated service platform for Asian businesses.

Building and maintaining processing plants and materials handling plants in all types of mines, Walz Group is recognised nationally for its performance.

Providing end-to-end solutions, from fabrication to delivery and installation, it has established direct relationships within the Australian mining industry in the 37 years since its formation.

"Mining companies will not compromise the integrity of their processes, and we have a proposition that can deliver a highly professional service offering in a cost-competitive manner," says Mark Gregory, CEO of Walz Group.

Walz Group recognises the essential role played by collaboration among its multiple divisions in the competitive construction landscape.

The flexibility of the group's subsidiaries to meet clients' complete requirements provides added value across various services from fabrication, site installation, to transport and logistics. Its workshop close to the Port of Gladstone in Queensland serves as a critical transport and rectification base for Asian deliveries to the Queensland mining sector.

Walz Group has signed a contract with China's Sinosteel and has engaged with Huadian Heavy Industries and other Asian companies looking to invest in resource projects in Australia.

These projects demonstrate how the group caters to the specific needs of the companies while in Australia. This approach has also enabled the group to transcend different business cultures in Asia, which is a key part of the group's long-term business strategy.

"We are continually developing our resource specialist portfolio for Asian businesses," Gregory says. "Our framework for a strong reputation is built on two elements that have been very effective for us - being approachable and easy to deal with, and being able to provide valuable solutions at every step of the process."
