Mitron's real-time digital information solutions enhance the passenger experience

Minutes can make a huge difference when trying to catch a train, bus or plane. Mitron Group gives commuters a head start by providing real-time passenger information with its digital display and communication systems.

"Our mission is to provide efficient and enjoyable travelling," says CEO Lasse Orre. "Efficiency means that you don't lose time. Enjoyable means that you can be safe."

Mitron's technology solutions, which include wireless local area networks and announcement systems, inform travellers on board trains of connecting lines and bus departure times. These solutions also incorporate closed-circuit television cameras that help maintain security inside the trains.

After disembarking, commuters continue to rely on Mitron for travel updates on platforms, within train and metro stations and at bus stops or terminals.

Travellers passing through airports with Mitron systems in place can easily find their flights and luggage. Mitron's 25 years of experience in display sales and signage, highlighted by its production of the world's brightest electronic outdoor display, have proven invaluable to its passenger information products.

Every product and part of its systems is characterised by superior quality and a longer life cycle that gives clients up to five years' warranty.

Mitron's software can be seamlessly integrated into any station or terminal's systems. Online software upgrades are particularly convenient for Mitron's worldwide client base, which includes Bombardier, Deutsche Bahn, Stadler and Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles.

The company's work with Delhi Metro Rail in India demonstrates its drive to expand its operations into Asia. Mitron is on the lookout for partnerships with hardware manufacturing and maintenance companies and component suppliers across Southeast Asia, in Japan and in China.

"There are 100 to 150 new airports coming up in the next 10 to 15 years in China," Orre says. "We are able to provide the requirements of tomorrow's passengers."
