Fujix sews its way to success with innovative threads
Discovery Reports
Armed merely with threads and a little foresight, Fujix has sewn its way to success for nearly a century.
"Forging through the war and the textile industry's evolution, Fujix was founded by my grandfather and carried on by my father, who saw synthetic threads and fabrics as the future of textiles," says president Ichiro Fujii.
Specialising in sewing threads for the garments, hobby and embroidery industries, Fujix has transformed into a brand that is among the industry's most competitive in terms of quality, price, delivery and service.
Reputed for qualities including strength, sophistication and innovative functions such as absorbing sweat and reducing odour, Fujix Group's products are distributed mainly through wholesalers. These are supplied, in turn, to leading car manufacturers for seating and well-known Japanese apparel brands.
The company's foresight and adaptability to fast-changing trends also enabled Fujix to see China as a growth driver as early as 1993 - when it opened its Shanghai plant for cost-effective production. Fujix looks at China as a significant market for high-end threads.
"It is no longer the era for mass-producing cheap products, even for China," Fujii says. "Asia is where the growth is - and it is a market we are committed to, providing high-quality products and advanced technologies."
